It allows you to record::Mix::Edit and the Burn your final CD all in one simple to use machine. It has 8 inputs that can be recorded onto 16 digital tracks and comes with an internal 20Gig Hard Drive (2.5" IDE laptop).
They've added a Quick Rec function that allows you to assign analog input to digital tracks using a graphical interface rather than a text based interface. This really helps with navigation and overall speed of editing.
The unit features 8 XLR/LINE inputs and one HI-Impedance Guitar input (1/4" Instrument Cable). Two of the XLR inputs come with phantom power so you can connect condenser and other powered microphones to the AW16G. It also has a S/PDIF digital input/output to allow you to connect to other machines (DAT, MiniDisc, and CD burners or to your computer. The Guitar Input also has guitar amp modelling built-in so you don't have to have your complete set up to work on the idea of the song.
